[2022 Edition] From "I want to go but I can't go" to "A store I can go to when I want to go." We are looking for eyeglass/sunglasses dealers to cooperate with us.

Hello, I'm OKD from METRONOME-Tokyo Online, the official Japanese online store for METRONOME DESIGN INC., which sells METRONOME®, a handmade eyeglasses and sunglasses brand founded in London.

This online store has been very successful in 2021. From trendy sunglasses to sunglasses with unique designs, our frames, which are renowned for being "stylish" and "unique," are sought after by many customers of all ages.

Since our launch, we have been looking for retailers to stock our eyeglasses and sunglasses in their physical stores, and the number of such retailers is gradually increasing.

However, we are still not at the stage where we can be a store that you can go to whenever you want, so for now we ask that you consult with an authorized dealer or other eyeglass store near you if there is one nearby for lens replacement or adjustment .

Thanks to you, our shop has continued to grow in both name recognition and sales. In response to customer feedback such as "I'd love to try them on," "I'd like to have my lenses replaced at an authorized dealer so I can feel safe," and "I'd love to have my glasses and sunglasses adjusted in-store," we are once again looking to strengthen our recruitment of agents in 2022.

First of all, why did we launch an online store? It is explained in the About section, but we have excerpted it below.

~Why we created a direct site~

It was when designer Iwamoto visited an agency in Okinawa that he heard from the owner, who was originally from a remote island, that there were still many stores in Japan that people wanted to visit but couldn't .

There are also areas where it is difficult to get an eye exam (to measure lens power). Originally, overseas sales grew at a tremendous pace after the London launch, but the design was not well received by Japanese retailers, who tend to prefer conservative styles.

Up until now, it was common to buy glasses at a retail store . To do so, they had to be purchased by a buyer first. However, because of its radical design, it was starting to be introduced in stores with cutting-edge tastes, but it was still in a state of disuse.

However, it became clear that there were many people who " wanted to go but couldn't " or " wanted to buy but couldn't, " so on the way back from Okinawa, Iwamoto said, "You can order online." Originally, ordering eyeglasses and sunglasses online was considered taboo because of the need for eye examinations and fittings.

However, what motivates us is the situation where "people want our products but can't buy them ." Fortunately, thanks to Iwamoto's exposure in Japan and our track record overseas, the number of distributors for each brand has finally increased compared to the past, but there are still many regions where we cannot reach them.

In addition, our designers and planning team, who plan many of our overseas brands, also plan to sell niche, lesser-known overseas brands in the future. To that end, we will continue to cooperate with our distributors in various ways, operate our online store, and strive to ensure that our sunglasses and eyeglasses reach people all over Japan.

Through daily sales in stores, communication on social media, and participation in international exhibitions, we realize that our brand's recognition is increasing day by day both domestically and internationally. (Thank you!!!)

Despite the disadvantage of not being able to actually touch and examine the products, all of our staff are filled with gratitude to the many customers who still purchase our products.

We would appreciate even more cooperation from our agents, shop owners, and users so that we can not only make the site itself easier to use, but also so that customers can purchase, wear, and have their glasses and sunglasses adjusted from our shop with greater peace of mind.

Regarding our shop's brands, it is possible to introduce only specific brands (e.g., only METRONOME, only Resonance). Of course, we also welcome customers who want to handle all brands.
