Introducing sunglasses with the popular matte and fossil-finished surface I METRONOME

Hello, I'm OKD from METRONOME-Tokyo Online, the official Japanese online store for METRONOME DESIGN INC., which sells METRONOME®, an eyeglasses and sunglasses brand founded in London.

This time, we would like to introduce sunglasses manufactured using our new "frame processing" service, which began in 2022.

You might be wondering what frame processing means. This is a technique called "fossil processing," which literally carves uneven surfaces into the surface of the eyeglass/sunglasses frame (which should be flat). There is also a technique called "matte processing," which gives a soft and calm impression. On this site, we will cover these two types.

Anyway, please take a look at the actual product. First, here is an image of the "normal frame" = a frame that has not been processed yet.

Can you see? Before processing, the frame has a fairly glossy appearance. Matte processing, for example, deliberately reduces this gloss and creates sunglasses frames with a more subdued impression.

Here it is: the matte finish version.

What do you think? (Please forgive the difference in the frame shape.) They have the same black frame and are made of the same material, but just by adding a little processing, they have a calm, heavy finish.

By the way, clear frames can also be matte-finished. For example, in the case of BLAST sunglasses (eyeglasses), before processing:

By deliberately reducing the clarity, it shows a completely different look!

In addition to the matte finish, we also offer a technique called "fossil finishing" for eyeglass and sunglasses frames.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but if you look closely you can see that the surface looks jagged and is clearly not flat!

This is called fossil processing, and each frame is carved individually. Therefore, no two frames are exactly the same. Your frame will be truly unique. Our shop also offers fossil processed eyeglasses/sunglasses under the brand METRONOME.

Even with the same frames, a single modification can completely change the impression of your face. That's one of the roles of eyewear. Please try modifying the frames you already own or the frames you want to purchase from our shop!
