[March 2022] Things to consider when choosing the perfect eyeglasses for work while still looking stylish I METRONOME

【2022年3月】おしゃれしつつ、お仕事用に最適な眼鏡を選ぶ際の注意事項 I METRONOME

Hello, I'm OKD from METRONOME-Tokyo Online, the official Japanese online store for METRONOME DESIGN INC., which sells METRONOME®, an eyeglasses and sunglasses (eyewear) brand that started in London.

Our online store delivers a variety of stylish frames nationwide, focusing on our original brand of glasses and sunglasses (eyewear).

This time, as the title suggests, I would like to write about eyeglass/sunglasses frames that are stylish yet perfect for work.

Basically, I think the key factors in choosing a frame are "size" and "design." Ideally, you'd want to find the best fit in both areas, but that can be quite difficult (though eyeglass stores can help with fittings).

For example, if you prioritize design, some eyeglass/sunglasses frames can be difficult to adjust to the right size. Also, if the lens width doesn't fit, it can put strain on the eyes, which can be a source of worry.

Finding eyeglass frames can often be a hassle depending on whether or not you have prescription glasses, but if that's the case, it may depend on the priorities of the user.

Well, I apologize for the long introduction. In short, I think it's fine to prioritize the user's preferences as long as you don't deviate too much from the minimum size. In other words, it's something called PD (interpupillary distance).

Ideally, the pupil (black part of the eye) and the center of the eyeglass lens should be aligned, and this is something you should pay particular attention to when getting eyeglasses with prescription lenses. Your eyeglass store should be able to measure this for you, so please consult with us.

If this is too far out of alignment, it can lead to eye fatigue and associated discomfort, so this is a very important point when choosing glasses/sunglasses.

Now, if your PD (interpupillary distance) is not particularly problematic, then the key points to consider when choosing glasses/sunglasses will be the design and comfort.

For example, the frame that we have been introducing in the photos so far is our original brand, Trad, and it is a lightweight titanium frame that is extremely comfortable to wear.

Since they are equipped with blue light blocking lenses, they can also be used for desk work. I think they are stylish and highly functional frames that take eye strain into consideration.

On the other hand, in terms of lightness, we also recommend the Resonance MINX frame.

The frame itself weighs just 52g, and is made of acetate, making it light and easy to handle. Incidentally, you can wear it as regular glasses, but by attaching clip-on lenses, it can also be used as sunglasses.

At the time of sale, the frames are fitted with clear demo lenses. You can also try out blue light blocking lenses by replacing the lenses. You can also use them as sunglasses by inserting clear tinted sunglasses lenses, which are both stylish and provide eye protection.

The frames are neither too thick nor too thin, making them a perfect choice for first-time eyewear buyers. Even within the same brand, frame sizes vary, so be sure to check the PD (pupillary distance) and width measurements mentioned earlier.

What do you think? There are many more things I would like to introduce, but I will stop here for now.
