[2022] Writing about the original charm of Distortion melancholia (METRONOME, OKD)

Hello, I'm OKD from METRONOME-Tokyo Online, the official Japanese online store for METRONOME DESIGN INC., which sells METRONOME®, an eyeglasses and sunglasses brand founded in London.
Our shop delivers eyeglasses and sunglasses from our original brand, including METRONOME, to all over Japan through our online store. This staff blog is updated regularly, and this time we would like to write about Distortion melancholia, starting with the original Metronome.
Our shop primarily sells products from three brands. First, METRONOME, the original and supreme brand. Then there's Resonance by METRONOME, which inherits the design of METRONOME but improves cost performance by reviewing materials, and finally, there's Trad, which pursues a different, more classical direction from the other two brands.
DIstortion is one of the frames in the METRONOME line. The acetate frame gives the impression of being thick, but is lightweight and easy to wear.
And the fossilized surface is the most impressive thing!
Each piece is hand-carved by a craftsman to create this texture, and no two pieces have the same pattern.
The front is 10mm thick, so there are no nose pads, but the area that rests against the nose has been smoothly carved and polished to 0.2mm to 0.5mm, making it comfortable to wear. This is a Wellington design model.
Although there are no nose pads, I personally don't find them difficult to wear. However, I feel like they might slip a little when I sweat. The design allows for interchangeable lenses, so it would be nice to replace the DeMolens lenses that come with the glasses with colored sunglasses lenses.
The original METRONOME comes with an original case, soft case, cleaning cloth, etc. The size is 54mm lens width, 19mm bridge width, 140mm temple length, 48mm lens height, which means the PD (pupillary distance) is 73mm.
It's a slightly larger size, but it's roomy enough that you don't feel any tightness around the sides. (I personally use Summer Rain as well, and I don't think there's any problem with the size.)
However, if you are considering switching to prescription lenses, we recommend that you have your PD (pupillary distance) accurately measured at an optician or similar store!
As an aside, it also works perfectly with the original slim case sold separately, so please give it a try if you'd like.
So, you can find out more about the Distortion melancholia we introduced this time here .
There is also a Designer's Edition available! (Only C6 is left...) If you're interested, please check it out here .
Well then
