1. Introduction
Our uniquely designed glasses and sunglasses have been praised both overseas and in Japan, with people saying things like "stylish," "one of a kind," and "great designs that you can only get here."
The designs vary in color, shape, and even surface treatment methods.
2. "Fossil Processing" - a special technique born in Sabae, the holy land of glasses
Fossil processing is a processing technique that boldly creates crater-like irregularities on the surface. It is a very time-consuming technique, and our shop only uses this technique on a handful of products.
( Distortion melancholia [METRONOME] C1: FOSSIL BLACK)
It's easier to see if you look closely, but the surface is uneven. Each piece is carved out individually, making it rare, as no two pieces are exactly the same. When we exhibited it at an overseas exhibition, it was one of the first items to receive orders from overseas buyers. The fossil processing itself is a technique that originated in Sabae, Japan, known as the holy land of glasses, so I think that's one of the reasons it's so rare.

The shape itself has a classic feel, but by applying this surface treatment, it takes on a completely different look. The cost is higher because the processing is difficult, but... we are proud of the finished product! If you look closely, you will find that METRONOME products actually have very elaborate frames, so I hope you will take a look at them.

3. Other fossil processed products introduced in our shop
In addition to the Distortion melancholia [METRONOME] introduced earlier, the Adjustment disorder - Designer's edition [METRONOME] also uses fossil processing.
( Adjustment disorder - Designer`s edition [METRONOME] C4: FOSSIL BLACK)
This is a Boston-style item with a surface treatment. The one in the photo is labeled "Designer's Edition," and as such, it has an even more deeply carved fossilized finish than the regular Adjustment disorder. (Note: The regular Adjustment disorder also has a fossilized finish, but this one has an even deeper carving.)
(This also has the METRONOME logo)
The front is 10mm thick, so there are no nose pads, but the area that rests against the nose has been smoothly ground and polished to 0.2mm to 0.5mm, making it comfortable to wear.

(*All Designer Edition glasses are equipped with photochromic lenses. They function as eyeglasses indoors and change into sunglasses outdoors depending on the amount of UV rays.)

4. Conclusion
What did you think? In addition to the frames introduced here, there are other fossil-finished frames such as Lefty in the Right - Designer's edition [METRONOME] , so please check them out. (I will be adding more to this blog from time to time.)
We are often asked if our metronomes are expensive, but we hope that you can get a feel for the design and the technology that went into creating them through our photos.
Fossil processed products are extremely popular and we already have a few in stock, so don't miss out on this opportunity!
